Bayer HealthCare AG has been practicing Open Innovation for a number of years. Initiatives like Grants4Targets and CoLaborator in San Francisco have successfully introduced Bayer to new target mechanisms and technologies for drug discovery coming from previously unknown external collaboration partners. The newly started Grants4Leads and Grants4Apps initiatives expand these into medicinal compounds and software. CoLaborator - Berlin will open soon and offer laboratory space to young startups in biotech fields. In this presentation we will focus on Grants4Apps, the initiative to support new, innovative software projects in healthcare and pharmaceutical processes from independent developers, startups, students, companies, universities, institutions.
