Distributed Computing - How to distribute your Application with BOINC
by Uwe Beckert (Rechenkraft.net e.V.)
Thursday, 23.05.2013, Weimar 5, 14:00-15:00 Uhr
The talk gives an overview about BOINC, a open source software for volunteer- and grid computing, how it works, for what it can be used, how the client and server are working.
Also a deep insight how existing applications can be used in BOINC to distribute mass computation to volunteers will be given. It can be used by scientists as well as hobby scientist to get there computations done.
It can also be used to build a distributed sensor network to capture environmental data, e.g. earth quakes, radioactivity.
