The live A-Z Guide to openSUSE Contribution
von Henne Vogelsang (openSUSE), Vincent Untz (Novell, GNOME, openSUSE)
Saturday, 12.06.2010, Europa I, 12:00-12:30 Uhr
Henne and Vincent, two of the openSUSE Boosters, will show you live and on stage how easily you can contribute to the openSUSE Distribution. From A like Artwork (we guess you already heard of Vincents ninjaesque GIMP techniques) to Z like ZYPP, the linux software management engine. If you always wanted to know how you contribute back to a distribution, this is your chance to learn how.
Über den Autor Henne Vogelsang:
Hendrik Vogelsang mostly, except by his Mom (Hello Henne's Mom!), known as Henne. Thirtysomething years old, located in Nuremberg/Germany/Europe. Henne is working since 10+ years for the SUSE Linux Products GmbH as free and open source software developer. Currently as hacking, community guiding and buzz making project manager. He is a founding and board member of the openSUSE project, the open source project that delivers you the german engineering version of a Linux distribution. In his spare time he likes herding Dodos, sorting screws by diameter and sitting inside while its raining. What he dislikes, not only in his spare time, is stupidity in an form, taste or diameter. Go to hennevogel.de to learn more about his thoughts and doings.
Über den Autor Vincent Untz:
When he's not procrastinating or eating ice cream, Vincent Untz shows his real face: he is an active Free Software enthusiast, GNOME lover and advocate, and openSUSE booster. Rumours say Vincent started contributing to the Free Software world by triaging bugs for the GNOME Bugsquad, before becoming maintainer of various GNOME modules. However, he finds it's simpler to declare he is a "touche-à-tout", working on various (some say random) areas of the desktop. Vincent Untz is also trying to cure his coding addiction, by holding positions such as GNOME Release Manager and GNOME Foundation director. Vincent is still pushing French as official language for GNOME, and hopes to succeed really soon now.
