What Is Special About the QML Declarative Language?

von Matthias Ettrich (Nokia Qt Development Frameworks / KDE)

Thursday, 10.06.2010, Europa I, 10:30-11:00 Uhr

Since the initial release of the Quick language in 2009 (called QML back then), we at Nokia have been doing a lot of research on declarative UIs. This resulted in improvements in the language itself, as well as visual development tools.

With Qt 4.7, QML will be part of the Qt toolkit. It will open up Qt to a new audience that doesn't just include C++ developers. Consequently the next version of Qt Creator will provide full QML support, on both a text and visual level.

This talk will show why QML is so powerful, in spite of being fairly different to what Qt developers are used to. It will also show who will profit from QML, and in what scenarios the language really shines.

Note: Speaker will probably be Matthias Ettrich, abstract and title are subject to change.
