Help Make LinuxTag Happen
LinuxTag is organized in large part by enthusiasts who volunteer their time and energy, and lives from the participation of its volunteers. The organization of LinuxTag is like that of other free projects.
Both at the event itself and during the preparations, we need volunteers for all kinds of jobs--there's something that needs doing for practically everyone who wants to help! If you want to help make LinuxTag happen, contact us any time.
At the moment, we're looking for teammates for the following sub-projects:
DVD Producer
As in past years, there will be a conference DVD for LinuxTag 2007. We're looking for energetic people to help with the compilation and mastering of this year's DVD. Experience with live DVDs, boot processes and boot managers, and DVD authoring are helpful skills.
Flash and Video Wizard
We're looking for an exper in Flash or similar animation techniques to develop a client/server solution for animated displays to be projected in the pauses between lectures and on information panels that display upcoming events.
Translators for the Website
The LinuxTag website is also managed as an internal LinuxTag project that is open for volunteer helpers. At the moment we're looking for translators who can help us internationalize our web offering. One objective is a complete English translation of the entire online presentation. Other languages are also welcome. If you are interested, please get in touch with our web team.
PHP Wizard
We're looking for a PHP coder to help with the maintenance and expansion of our conference planning plug-in to Typo 3. If you're interested, the web team will be happy to fill you in on the current status and the to-do list.
And of course we're also looking for ...
Helpers at LinuxTag 2007, May 30 - June 2, 2007
We're looking for volunteers who can help us during LinuxTag itself, or with set-up and breakdown. With a multitude of tasks to be carried out, there's something for everyone:
- Guiding speakers during the conference
- Moderating the presentations at LinuxTag
- Supporting the community events
- Helping hands during set-up and breakdown, and during the event itself
If you're interested, please get in touch with us.
