The Venue
The Umspannwerk on Paul-Lincke-Ufer in the central Berlin borough Kreuzberg is a former transformer station, designed by Hans Heinrich Müller and built from 1924 to 1928.
The club is easy to get to by underground: take U-Bahn line U1 to Görlitzer Bahnhof or line U8 to Schönleinstraße, just six stops from the speakers' hotel on Alexanderplatz.
By car, take the A100 autobahn towards Kurfürstendamm, Schönefeld, Wilmersdorf. At the Neukölln autobahn junction, take the Buschkrug exit, and turn left into highway B179 towards Karl-Marx-Strasse. Go about 2.6 km on Karl-Marx-Strasse, then turn right at Reuterstrasse. After about 700 m, turn left at Pflügerstrasse, then take the first right, Friedelstrasse. Continue straight on over the bridge to Ohlauer Strasse. The Umspannwerk is on your right.
