High-Availability PostgreSQL and clustering concepts

This track will focus entirely on PostgreSQL and its clustering capabilities. We will cover different concepts of replication such as:

- asyn replication / queuing - sync replication - queuing

... as well as various HA-setups.

The idea is to show practical examples to that people can see how things work where PostgreSQL can be used efficiently to setup HA environments.

In addition to that case studies of HA systems will be described.

The course is suitable for people who with little PostgreSQL experience, people who consider moving to PostgreSQL and for professionals who want to know more about the latest developments made by the PostgreSQL development team.

Über den Autor Hans-Jürgen Schönig:

After leaving university Hans-Juergen Schoenig started to work for a company focusing entirely on the forecast and analysis of the Austrian labour market.
In 2000 Ewald Geschwinde and Hans-Juergen Schoenig founded a company focusing entirely on PostgreSQL (see www.postgresql.at). Since that time he has dealt with customers around the globe such as Lucent Technologies, Skype, Siemens, Philips, etc.
Hans-Juergen Schoenig has written 6 books (4 of them about PostgreSQL).
Hans-Juergen Schoenig has been working with PostgreSQL since 1999.
