Clustered Volume Management in Fedora

von Alasdair G. Kergon (Red Hat)

Donnerstag, 31.05.2007, Saal 5: Wiesbaden, 16:00-17:00 Uhr

An overview of the software architecture will be followed by a description of the role played by each component, with particular emphasis on 'clvmd', the clustered LVM daemon.

The talk will cover:

- the 'clustered' attribute of Volume Groups;

- how to use LVM2 tags in a clustered environment;

- what happens behind the scenes when you run LVM2 commands in a cluster;

- what needs to be done before we'll have working 'mirrors' and 'snapshots' in a cluster;

- possible extensions to address some shortcomings of the current design and implementation.
