Asterisk (BRIstuffed)

von Klaus-Peter Junghanns (Junghanns.NET GmbH)

Dienstag, 02.05.2006, Raum 1A-2, 15:15-16:00 Uhr

BRIstuff is an enhancement to the Open Source PBX Asterisk licensed under the GPL. Originally intended as driver package for BRI ISDN hardware it soon grew to a 15000 line patch (and keeps on growing). The goal is to provide a stable Asterisk platform to be used in production environments with a special focus on the needs of European users. Large modifcations have been made to the ISDN stack for passing the layer 1, 2, 3 certification, which is a major milestone for the BRIstuff development.

The presentation explains the motivation of BRIstuff, why it is not in Asterisk CVS, the dual licensing of Asterisk, and outlines the most significant differences and enhancements. Important features as extension states and PickUp will be demonstrated and common pitfalls regarding ISDN will be explained during the talk.
