Knopflerfish OSGi on the the ultimate Linux mobile device: the Nokia 770
von Philippe Laporte (Gatespace Telematics)
Samstag, 06.05.2006, Saal 6.2, 12:00-13:00 Uhr
As it has become clear in the embedded world, a case must be made when one mentions Java.
This is due to several factors, not the least being the all-encompassing reach of the Java language and platform. Microsoft has successfully distinguished the two with C# and .NET.
With its top-of-class Hardware and extensibility capabilities, the Nokia 770 has made it clear that it stands on top of the embedded Linux Multimedia world.
So, will Java make it to the 770?
Several aspects will be discussed:
- Why Java?
- The very popular ARM Java chip design Jazelle
- Why Open source Java?
- Embedded Java environments
- Why OSGi?
- Why Open Source OSGi?
- Why Knopflerfish OSGi?
I will have a 770 with Knopflerfish OSGi and Gatespace Telematics' platform management agent in action.
Ich kann ein bisschen Deutsch aber mein Vokabeln ist klein.
