Exploring ext/mysqli: Using PHP 5 with MySQL 5.0
von Georg Richter (MySQL AB), John-Isaac (Zak) Greant (eZ systems)
Donnerstag, 23.06.2005, Practical Linux Forum, 13:00-14:00 Uhr
This session will walk attendees through the new and existing features of ext/mysqli and MySQL 5. ext/mysqli is the new MySQL extension for PHP 5, while MySQL 5.0 is the current development release of MySQL. Some of the new ext/mysqli features include the ability to extend the resultset and statement classes, support for exceptions and the ability to set and retrieve global MySQL settings via mysqli_driver. Some of the new MySQL 5 features that will be covered include views, stored procedures and subqueries. Note: This session will be presented by the two maintainers of ext/mysqli: Georg Richter and Zak Greant.
Über den Autor Georg Richter:
Georg Richter is the author of the mysqli extension, and also maintains the mysql and ncurses extensions. He works for MySQL AB as a Senior Developer, and is a member of the Apache Software Foundation.
Beside Apache, PHP and MySQL he also contributes code to the OpenOffice.org project, and is responsible for organization of various events like MySQL ComCon 2004, ApacheCon Europe 2005 and last not least the LAMP Area on LinuxTag.
Über den Autor John-Isaac (Zak) Greant:
Zak Greant is a technical evangelist, author and programmer whose deep and constant love of Free Software and Open Source is turning him into a penguin. The only visible changes (so far) are a gradual accumulation of blubber, a loss of hair (which he hopes is the prelude to feather growth) and a growing preference for raw fish.
When not practicing how to waddle or wear a tuxedo, he helps businesses and Free/Open projects create and execute plans for their strategic, marketing, human resource, product, service, and information technology management activities.
To keep sane, he works as an editor on various cool Free/Open book projects, hand-crufts code for various Free/Open projects, beats on a guitar, plays D & D, and is learning to carve masks, boxes and totems in the Northwest Coast style.
